Suburb Man copyright 2001
Words and music by T C Arthur.
1st
When I was young and once the school bell rung, in the bright summers it's homeward I would run.
Then from the housing scheme I'd flee, to the fields and glens, like a bird I was free.
2nd
But once, my school days they were done, to earn me keep, an apprentice I'd become.
To serve me time in factories and mills, but these fields and glens were calling me still.
Chorus
But deep within a voice did say, that whatever fortune brought my way, I'd pray the future would decree, that they'd be no suburb life for me.
3rd
From high Glennifer we looked on the scene below, the night was dark but the sky was an orange glow.
She said these lights, look so beautiful and bright but like your soul are prisoners of the night.
4th
And once my time it was done, there was nothing here, now to hold me down,
I'd break the emotional ties that bind, these fields and glens, once more they would be mine.
Chorus
5th
So thus I roamed where air my fancy flee, o're many borders, across the grey North sea.
In search of something that was never meant to be, but these fields and glens kept on calling me.
6th
The years have rolled and I still must earn me keep. With loved ones to support and all their daily needs.
Now these high hills are looking down on me, it seems that life has made a suburb man of me.
Chorus
Last Chorus
And still within a voice does say, that whatever fortune brings my way.
I'll still pray the future will decree that someday, they'll be no suburb life for me.
The Passing Years Copyright protected
Words and music by T C Arthur.
1st verse.
I know it's hard, the race you've run, the children needs, are never done.
The woman who, becomes a wife, life seems to her at times, an eternal strife.
Chorus.
But to night, you're here with me, we're but a second, in eternity
and life's to short, to bitter be, so lift your glass and drink with me.
2nd verse.
The passing years, with their joys and tears, with parents dear and loved ones gone.
We're left alone, to carry on, the reason for, we question why.
Chorus.
3rd verse.
You ask me what, we have to show, for all these years, that have flown.
But look into, their shining eyes, life's precious secret, you'll realise.
Chorus.
4th verse.
But as they must, the sands will run, our moment here, will soon be gone,
and all we ask, when that time comes, to see our son's, stand tall as men.
Last chorus.
The Red Red Wine Copyright protected
Words and music By T C Arthur..
Chorus
So bring me the red red wine to ease this troubled heart of mine and I will drink it down and cast the tears aside when I drink down the red red wine.
1st verse.
You say that it's over our love is in the past just like the changing seasons it could never last.
You want to be on your own again independent and free, but love I never held you down , never tied you to me.
Chorus
2nd verse
You envy the golden eagle with its freedom in the air you regret this life your living that leaves you in despair.
I'd give to you everything if it was mine to give, but the freedom that you search for dose not exist,
Chorus
3rd verse
And when the years have flown and you are on your own, will you still seek your freedom like an ever rolling stone.
Or will you recall with sadness the love you through away, will the memory of it haunt you until your dying day.
Chorus

Words and music by T C Arthur
Chorus
Who will wear the orange coat, who will wear the green.
Who will stand united, to fight for Scotland's dream.
1st
Now we sit and listen to their words of woe,
Often, I remember were spoken long ago.
Sic a parcel of rouges in a nation
Chorus
2nd
Why do you act so strange?
Are you ashamed of your Scottish name?
Or is it you have more to gain, south of the border?
Were bought and sold for English gold
Chorus
3rd
Now the time has come,
for us to choose the day,
or shall we remain, governed the English way.
Be secure in valour station
Chorus.

Words and music by Thomas C Arthur. (1999)
Chorus
May the Gulf winds caress your salt sea water's,
may they gently blow you on your way.
May the conveyor keep on rolling,
across the wild Atlantic.
Keep rolling, to my northern shores.
1st
Many years I was held in bondage,
and my guards cold hands would not let me be.
Then you came journeying, searching ever northward,
From you my gaolers ran then I was free.
Chorus
2nd
For eons like a sentinel I have stood here,
waiting for an old friend at his journeys end,
and warm is the hand you hold to greet me,
the warmth on which my liberty depends.
Chorus
3rd
Though between us never a word is spoken,
but I know you are always there.
May the winds of fortune keep us together.
Forever let our destiny be shared.
Chorus
4th
Tell the people of the land and those that follow ,
that to live we must find a better way.
To defend and protect the ties that bind us,
for it's you that keeps these Artic winds at bay.
Chorus.
